What comes next in the fight will define us

I remember a week ago when my life was pretty chill. Then things started changing by the hour – travel restrictions, sports got postponed, toilet paper is now currency, and Tom Hanks, America’s Dad, has COVID-19.

Many of you now suddenly have kids at home for the foreseeable future. God bless you. We’re all suddenly spinning so many plates and there’s a lot on the line. Especially if you’re a doctor or nurse, you’re on the front lines of this battle.

Things will get worse before they get better. I’m not going to sugarcoat it, the next 4-8 weeks are going to be shit. Here in Texas, things are still calm, but we know we’re not immune. Bars and restaurants are now closed

Worst case scenario 50% of Americans will contract the virus as it is very communicable. This is on a par with the common cold of which there are about 200 strains and of which the majority of Americans will get 2-3 times per year. COVID-19 is imminently survivable. Unless your immune system is compromised or you’re elderly, you’re going to whip coronavirus’ ass pretty good. Don’t put yourself in a position where you might spread it to either of our fragile friends. Wash your hands.

Peak – virus expected over the next 8 weeks, declining thereafter.

Compassion

People are going to lose their shit. But my readers are not going to, we’re a little stronger. We’re all part of a support system tested and reinforced over a number of years together as a community and we know better than to overreact. It’s a safety net many don’t have so please be compassionate if others around you have difficulty

Leadership

If you’re in a leadership position, this is a time which makes and breaks careers. Over-communicate with your teams, remain positive and empathetic. This is an opportunity to set (or reset) your direction and to provide guidance to your organization. Take advantage of this moment or run the risk of letting events roll over you. Your choice.

Manage cash responsibly

For example, don’t make the mistake of buying Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker. It’s a lot of razzle-dazzle with very little at its core. Wait till you can rent it for $4.99. Purchasing it for $19.95 was a poor financial decision on my part.

We’re here the entertain you

The traffic on this website is at an all time high, better than last year for example because we are a community and we are growing even more ,so share waht you enjoy with friends and family!
